Rashmika warns of 'moral decline' over AI misuse, demands 'unforgiving punishment'

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has issued a powerful statement on X, condemning the "vulgarity" and targeting of women through the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which she calls a sign of "deep moral decline."

Following a series of AI-generated deepfake controversies involving her and other public figures, the star stressed that the internet is "no longer a mirror of truth" but a "canvas where anything can be fabricated."

The Pushpa 2: The Rule actress urged the public to exercise "discernment" as their "greatest defence" against manufactured content. She called for a societal shift to "rise above misuse and use AI to build a more dignified and progressive society." Concluding her stern message, the actress demanded that for those who "cannot act like humans," "strict & unforgiving punishment must be served."

The actress was most recently seen as the protagonist in The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran and co-starring Dheekshith Shetty and Anu Emmanuel. The coming-of-age relationship drama will debut on Netflix on December 5th. It also features Rao Ramesh and has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
