Animal is officially headed to Japan. Following its massive worldwide success, the high-octane thriller—starring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga—is scheduled for a theatrical release in Japan on February 13, 2026.
Marking the first collaboration between Kapoor and Vanga, the film became a phenomenon upon its initial 2023 debut, grossing over Rs 900 crore. This international expansion aims to push the gritty saga of vengeance and family loyalty toward the prestigious Rs 1,000 crore milestone. Japanese audiences can finally experience the raw, intense narrative that redefined modern Indian action cinema.
Vanga believes that "troubled characters make for great drama" and wanted to explore how far a son would go for his father's validation. He welcomed the "A" (Adults only) certificate, stating he would not show the film to his own son or other children under 18, acknowledging its intensity is not for everyone.
Vanga is currently making Spirit, starring Prabhas in the lead. Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and others are pat of the cast.
