Ranabaali is taking its promotions in a different direction with the launch of its four-part Never Forget: The Truth Series. The first chapter, titled The Famine We Forgot, is set to be unveiled today taking audiences deeper into the historical backdrop that inspired the upcoming period action drama.
The makers have positioned the series around forgotten chapters of history connected to the world of Ranabaali. Rather than revealing another regular glimpse from the film, the Truth Series aims to explore the events and circumstances behind its story while also giving audiences a closer look at the world created by director Rahul Sankrityan. The series is being presented as a companion to the film ahead of its October 16 worldwide theatrical release.
The first chapter, The Famine We Forgot, focuses on the famine and the historical events connected to the film’s setting. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1876-78 Madras Famine, with the story exploring the impact of hunger, oppression and colonial rule on people in the Rayalaseema region. Vijay Deverakonda plays the lead role Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma. Arnold Vosloo is also part of the cast in a key role.
The Truth Series will unfold in four chapters, with the first, The Famine We Forgot, arriving today, September 28. The second chapter, The History We Forgot, will be unveiled on September 30, followed by The Men We Forgot on October 2. The fourth and final chapter, titled The Last Load, is yet to get a release date, with the makers expected to announce it soon.
The approach also adds another layer to Ranabaali’s promotions. Instead of relying only on songs, posters and conventional promotional material, the team is using historical material and behind-the-scenes content to create a deeper connection with the film’s world. The series will also feature insights into the research and filmmaking process behind the ambitious project.
With The Famine We Forgot arriving today, Ranabaali is beginning its Truth Series with one of the most important elements of its historical setting. The next chapters are set to reveal more, building anticipation for Rahul Sankrityan’s period action drama ahead of its grand worldwide release on October 16.
