On Ramya Krishnan’s birthday, Manchu Manoj introduced her powerful character from the upcoming period action drama David Reddy. Taking to X, Manoj unveiled Ramya’s first look as Kamala Reddy, calling her a “ferocious” character and teasing that audiences should wait to see her in action.
The first look presents Ramya Krishnan in an intense and commanding avatar, perfectly matching the film’s period setting. Sharing the poster, Manoj wrote, “One look. The entire frame belongs to her,” while also expressing his honour in sharing the screen with the veteran actress. His post further adds to the curiosity around Kamala Reddy and her role in the story.
David Reddy stars Manchu Manoj in the lead as the central rebel character, with the film set against the backdrop of British-era India. The story revolves around resistance and the struggles faced during colonial rule, with the teaser already establishing Manoj in a fierce warrior avatar.
Directed by debutant Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti, the film also features Maria Riaboshapka, Samuthirakani, Abhay Deol and Kanchana in key roles. Ravi Basrur is composing the music, while the film is being made as a pan-Indian project across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
