Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have unveiled a bronze statue of their beloved characters Raj and Simran from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) at the prestigious Leicester Square in London. The event honors the film's 30th anniversary and cements its place as a cultural phenomenon.
The duo stood before a vibrant backdrop featuring Yash Chopra's signature banner and the film's timeless tagline, "Come... Fall in Love." They pulled the cord to reveal the life-sized statue, capturing the iconic train scene where Raj extends his hand, urging Simran to "come back."
"This is not just a statue; it's a testament to love, dreams, and the enduring spirit of Indian storytelling," Khan said in a heartfelt speech. Kajol added, "Raj and Simran aren't just characters; they're us – every heart that believed in second chances."
The unveiling was attended by filmmaker Aditya Chopra who described it as "a proud chapter in Bollywood's global journey."
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, released in 1995, revolutionized romantic cinema with its blend of diaspora dreams, family values, and sweeping melodies.
