Malavika Mohanan recalls her first unique audition

It was with the 2013 Malayalam movie Pattam Pole that Malavika Mohanan made her acting debut. Dulquer Salmaan was its hero. With the theatrical release of her latest Mollywood film, Hridayapoorvam , Malavika turned nostalgic. In a social media post, she spoke of her first ever audition in her life. And it was rather an accident. The magnitude of it never hit me back when it was happening, but who gets their first one taken by a legendary actor? Crazy right? They were casting for Pattam Pole at the time with Dulquer and Mammukka (Mammootty) spotted me at a set I was visiting and recommended me for the film and that s how I landed my first role ever. Today as Hridayapoorvam is being showered with so much love, I can t help but think of where it all started. And the man who was responsible for me foraying into this world which I wasn t really planning on otherwise, Malavika wrote. Hridayapoorvam stars Mohanlal in the lead. It was released for Onam in Kerala. Malavika will be seen next in The Raja Saab . Directed by Maruthi Dasari, the horror-fantasy stars Prabhas in the lead. It will hit the screens on January 9, 2026.
