Kota Srinivasa Rao's wife Rukmini passes away

Kota Srinivasa Rao died in the early hours of 13 July 2025, at the age of 83. Just weeks after his tragic death, his wife, Rukmini , breathed her last. She had been suffering from prolonged illness. Kota and Rukmini had three children. Their son, Kota Venkata Anjaneya Prasad, died on 20 June 2010 in a road accident in Hyderabad. In an old interview, Kota revealed that his wife had lost her mental balance soon after their marriage. Her mother's untimely demise deeply disturbed her, resulting in psychological issues. Kota once said that he swallowed the pain of his wife's condition silently and that he wouldn't discuss it with anybody. Another personal tragedy that deeply affected him was when one of his daughters met with a road accident in the 2000s, an incident that rendered her physically handicapped. He made his acting debut in 1978 with the Telugu film Pranam Khareedu. He went on to play several negative and supporting roles in a wide range of films.
