Tollywood director KK (Kiran Kumar) is no more. His untimely death has shocked the Telugu film industry.
Kiran Kumar was a director, associate director, and occasional actor. He had a long association with legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam, working as an associate on several of his projects, including the prestigious Ponniyin Selvan movies. He directed the film Kedi (featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead), acted in films like Bhadrakali (as a CBI officer alongside Vijay Antony), and had recently completed shooting for his comeback directorial K.J.Q (King Jackie Queen), starring Shashi Odela and Dikshit Shetty.
He passed away unexpectedly shortly after finishing K.J.Q, just before its release. The exact cause remains unknown, with no official details released at the time of writing.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams, OK Bangaram (O Kadhal Kanmani), Cheliyaa (Kaatru Veliyidai), and Nawab (Chekka Chivantha Vaanam) are some of the Telugu-dubbed films for which he penned dialogues.
Although he didn't achieve success as a filmmaker, KK was renowned in the Telugu film industry for being an efficient technician.
K.J.Q. will be his posthumous release in theatres. Its release date will be locked soon.
