Karthi's musical action-adventure Awara locks its re-release date

Paiyaa , the Tamil-language action-adventure film, was released in Telugu as Awara . Originally released in the year 2010, it is now up for a theatrical re-release in Telugu. It will be a Tirupati Dollar release in Telugu on November 22nd . Directed by N Lingusamy, the film stars Karthi and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. Co-starring Jagan and Sonia Deepti in supporting roles, Awara was a musical hit. Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs captivated the listeners in both Telugu and Tamil. Chiru Chiru Chiru, Chuttesai Chuttesai, and Nee Yadalo Naaku were particularly popular chartbusters. Bollywood actor Milind Soman played the chief antagonist. The cinematography and editing of Awara were handled by R. Madhi and Anthony, respectively. Upon its theatrical release, Karthi's performance was generally praised as enjoyable and convincing. He was appreciated for stepping into a more urban, stylish role after his previous films. Many critics found the film to be a racy summer treat and a good 'paisa-vasool' (value for money) entertainer aimed successfully at the youth.
