Kantara Chapter 1 mints Rs 427.50 Cr in six days

The unstoppable force of devotion and storytelling conquers the box office once again, wrote Hombale Films , announcing the total collections of their movie, Kantara Chapter 1, so far. Since its release on October 2nd, the movie has made Rs 427.5 Cr (Gross Worldwide BO Collections) . Three million dollars came from North America. The Hindi version at the Indian box office has already entered the Rs 100 Cr mark. The film's tale has impressed the audience. The Kadamba dynasty is ruled by a tyrant obsessed with seizing all land and water resources. This ruler s quest for precious materials takes him to a sacred garden—a place where Lord Shiva once meditated. This garden borders Kantara, a region where local tribes inhabit. The king s ambition immediately creates a conflict when he lays claim to their land. The story then fast-forwards decades. We meet Vijayendra (Jayaram), the King of Bhangra, who, after a long reign, passes the throne to his son, Kulasekhara (Gulshan Devaiah), while his daughter, Kanakavathi (Rukmini Vasanth), manages the kingdom s finances. The tribal people of Kantara are led by Berme ( Rishab Shetty ), who understands that Kulasekhara has evil motives and wants to take over Kantara.
