Kannappa takes authenticity to new heights with sprawling New Zealand sets

The scale of Kannappa is going to be breathtaking. Actor-producer Manchu Vishnu has revealed that a large swathe of land was rented in New Zealand to erect a sprawling set. We rented a large parcel of land, spread over 9,000 acres. We then erected places of dwelling to reflect the authentic period setting. If they don't look like sets, that's beautiful. I am happy that they don't feel like sets, he said. Everything you see in the promotional assets of Kannappa are sets. If the viewer is unable to figure out what is a set and what is not, it means everyone from the cinematographer to the production designer did a great job, Vishnu opined. VFX shots were minimal in the film's first Teaser. The second Teaser had a very large VFX content, Vishnu said. Kannappa , directed by Mukhesh Kumar Singh, has Prabhas and Akshay Kumar in noted cameos. To be released worldwide in theatres on June 27th , Kannappa also features Mohanlal, Mukesh Rishi and Sarath Kumar. The Monsoon release has Preity Mukundan, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Saptagiri, Madhubala, Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Brahmaji, Devaraj, Raghu Babu, Siva Balaji, Sampath Ram, Lavi Pajni, Surekha Vani, Kaushal And Adhurs Raghu in different roles.
