Jailer 2 Trailer Out

Published: 2026-10-05

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is entering the final stage of its promotions with the much-awaited trailer arriving today, October 5, at 6 PM. Sun Pictures announced the trailer release with a new poster featuring Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, adding to the anticipation surrounding the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster. The film is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on October 15.

Rajinikanth returns as Muthuvel Pandian, with Nelson Dilipkumar once again taking charge as writer and director. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music and background score. The sequel brings back familiar faces including Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu, while S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan and Suraj Venjaramoodu are among the notable additions to the cast.

The promotional campaign has already created considerable buzz through glimpses, character-based updates and a series of songs. The album includes tracks such as Ala Bolelo, One Sun One Moon, One Name and Bindaas. One Name has been presented as a tribute to Rajinikanth’s five-decade journey, while Bindaas features Nora Fatehi in a special dance appearance.

The makers have also kept the mass image of Muthuvel Pandian at the centre of the campaign, with the latest trailer announcement carrying the tagline, “Unstoppable. Unbreakable. Thalaivan Nerandharam.”

The trailer’s biggest strength is the mystery surrounding Muthuvel Pandian. The opening question about a man who cannot be traced immediately creates curiosity, before revealing that he is simply living as a driver while those around him underestimate him. The contrast between this seemingly ordinary image and the dangerous man underneath gives the character an interesting new dimension. The reference to the “tiger” further reinforces that Muthuvel is not someone who can be taken lightly. The trailer also hints at a larger rivalry involving Vidya Balan and Vijay Sethupathi, while the mention of Varman and Muthuvel’s actions after his killing adds another layer to the conflict. The mass moments then bring the familiar Muthuvel Pandian energy back, especially the idea of gathering his enemies in one place and taking them down in his own style.

With just ten days left for the theatrical release, the trailer is expected to reveal more about Muthuvel Pandian’s new challenge, the scale of the sequel and the world Nelson has created this time. Jailer 2 arrives in theatres on October 15.
