Idli Kottu Trailer: Dhanush's movie seems to be a big-hearted drama

The trailer for Idli Kottu establishes the Dhanush directorial as a lovely, gentle drama where conversations and the male lead's characterization attempt to be poignant and thoughtful. This is a fresh departure from the action dramas of the era. Dhanush plays Murali, the son of an Idli maker from a small village. While the father wants his son to follow the family business, Murali chases dollar dreams, only to be disillusioned with the materialistic and profit-oriented endeavour. After developing a low-key rivalry with Arun Vijay 's millionaire character, he returns to his hometown to support his father.
