I watched the performances of Sridevi, Savitri before doing Kaantha: Bhagyashri Borse

Kaantha was Bhagyashri Borse's first film unofficially, for it was this script that came her way first. Ahead of the movie's theatrical release on November 14, the star heroine says that she feels privileged to have got to play the character of an actress in the multi-lingual release. As a newcomer, she couldn't have asked for more. "I let the character challenge me. I did a lot of groundwork for the character of Kumari. We had to recreate the 1960s era. As part of my homework, I watched Telugu and Tamil movies from the black-and-white era. I observed the acting of Sridevi garu and Savitri garu. I took all of that as inspiration and recreated Kumari in a new way. The director supported me a lot," the Mr. Bachchan actress says. She shares screen space with not only Dulquer Salmaan but also with Rana Daggubati. Incidentally, both are also the movie's producers. "Rana garu and Dulquer garu are not just amazing actors, but also producers with a passion for cinema. They are always keen to bring good stories to the audience. With their passion, they made the film very grand. Kaantha is a film with outstanding production values," she adds. Bhagyashri Borse is looking forward to delivering a multi-lingual hit. Kingdom opposite Vijay Deverakonda was her theatrical release earlier this year.
