Speaking at Ustaad Bhagat Singh's Saturday evening, director Harish Shankar attributed the completion of the movie to Pawan Kalyan's rigorous hard work. Even after assuming ministerial responsibilities in 2024, he worked the hardest. Sometimes, his work schedule lasted 18-20 hours.
"Pawan Kalyan garu worked so hard that we had no time to breathe," Harish Shankar revealed, thanking the actor-politician for keeping the entire team focused.
In his speech, the director blamed himself for the delayed commencement of shoot. The project was announced sometime during the pandemic-induced lockdown in 2020. Initially, the plan was to mount a college campus love story. However, the director had a change of mind with everyone asking him another mass entertainer. "There was an expectation-reality mismatch. While fans and well-wishers were expecting a mass film like Gabbar Singh, what I had in mind was a bit classy. We then thought of doing a remake, but it didn't excite us," the director said.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh, with music and cinematography by Devi Sri Prasad and Ayananka Bose, respectively, is produced by Mythri Movie Makers' Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni. Sreeleela features in the film's first song, Dekhlenge Saala.
