The buzz surrounding Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has reached a fever pitch as director Geetu Mohandas officially unveiled the first look of Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth. Starring alongside Rocking Star Yash, Huma’s entry into this cinematic world promises a character defined by mystery, intensity, and a hauntingly beautiful aesthetic.
Set in a gothic graveyard amidst weathered tombstones and stone angels, Huma stands beside a vintage black car. Dressed in a dramatic, off-shoulder black outfit with voluminous sleeves, she embodies "old-world elegance" against a foreboding backdrop.
Director Geetu Mohandas took to Instagram to praise Huma’s "high-octane caliber" and commanding presence. He revealed that the role of Elizabeth was the trickiest to cast, but Huma brought an effortless sophistication that brought the character to life. "She has always been known as a powerhouse of talent, but this performance will mark a turning point for the arrival of an undeniable, commanding new presence on celluloid," the director shared.
Huma Qureshi expressed her gratitude on social media, describing the project's vision as "audacious" and praising Yash as an "undeniable force of nature." After Kiara Advani, hers is the second most important female character in this movie, being shot in Kannada and English simultaneously. KVN Productions is bankrolling this one on a prestigious scale.
Toxic is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19, 2026, strategically timed for the festive weekend of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa.
