Prabhas’ Fauzi is taking a little longer to reach theatres. Producer Y Ravi Shankar confirmed at The Paradise pre-release event on September 21 that the film will not arrive on its previously announced December 3 release date. A new release date has not been announced yet, although the film is now expected to move into 2027.
The postponement had been discussed in industry circles for the past few days, but Ravi Shankar’s statement has now made the change official. Importantly, the producer presented the delay as a decision taken to give the team more time for a film that is being mounted on a large scale.
While speaking at the event, Ravi Shankar described Fauzi as a “next-level movie” and said audiences have not seen Prabhas in a look this grand since Baahubali. He also expressed regret over pushing the film back, while saying that the final product would be something audiences could cherish for a long time.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is a period action drama featuring Prabhas alongside Imanvi, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and others. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Vishal Chandrasekhar composing the music and Sudeep Chatterjee handling cinematography.
The delay means audiences will have to wait longer to see Hanu Raghavapudi’s vision for Prabhas. At the same time, the producer’s comments have added to the expectations surrounding the project, particularly regarding Prabhas’ appearance and the film’s overall scale.
For now, the only confirmed update is that Fauzi will not release on December 3. The makers are yet to announce the new date, leaving the next major update likely to be the revised release plan.
