Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda 2: Thaandavam has stormed the box office, raking in a staggering 59.95 crores gross on its opening day, including Thursday premieres.
The team behind the epic sequel is elated. "This film belongs to every audience member. This is the soul of India, not just a movie. Everyone has embraced Akhanda 2 as their own. I thank them for it. The highlight of our movie is Dharmam itself. This is the kind of movie that a family of five can watch in a theatre," director Boyapati Sreenu said, urging the audience to also watch it on the PCX screens wherever they can. "This is the first 3D movie in Balayya Babu's career," he added.
The makers stated that the biggest movie in Balakrishna's movie has been nothing short of a celebration.
Producer Ram Achanta said, "The bookings are very strong. We are getting wonderful reports from the distributors. Families started coming in from Friday evening. We are confident that we will see phenomenal figures this weekend."
"Reports from the ground indicate that the audience are enjoying our movie a lot. The word of mouth is superb. We are planning to hold success celebrations in both states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana)," producer Gopi Achanta said.
Co-starring Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra and others, Akhanda 2 is produced by 14 Reels Plus.
