Fans eagerly anticipating the sequel to the blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD may have to wait a little longer. Director Nag Ashwin, in a recent interview, indicated that he hopes to begin filming Kalki 2 by the end of 2025, but confirmed that a number of factors have caused delays. The Mahanati maker explained that coordinating the schedules of the film's star-studded cast is a major challenge, noting, Everyone is busy. Additionally, he revealed that the planned action and pre-visualized sequences for the sequel are even grander than the original, requiring extensive preparation. While the director is optimistic about starting the shoot next year, he cautioned that the post-production process is expected to be lengthy. Hopefully in another 2 or 3 years, that's what I think, Ashwin stated. Kalki 2898 AD , released in 2024, is an epic mythological science fiction film. It is a visually ambitious and high-concept film that blends elements of Hindu mythology, particularly from the Mahabharata, with a futuristic, dystopian sci-fi setting. It starred Prabhas in the lead, while Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone played prominent roles. Kamal Haasan was seen in a negative role.
