Dhanush’s D56 has officially begun its journey, and the project has already given audiences plenty to be curious about. The film went on floors with a traditional pooja ceremony on September 25 at the Maranadu Karuppanasamy Temple near Tiruppachethi in Sivaganga. Dhanush, director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu and members of the cast and crew were present for the launch, which was followed by the first schedule of shooting.
The makers have now announced a Summer 2027 release, but they are still keeping the larger details of the film away. The official title is yet to be revealed, while the story, characters and overall genre have also not been clearly explained.
That lack of information is becoming one of the interesting aspects of D56. The combination of Dhanush and Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, who made his mark with Lubber Pandhu, has already created expectations, while the presence of Vadivelu, SJ Suryah and Preity Mukundan adds another layer of curiosity.
The first visuals from the launch also carry a rooted, traditional feel, but it is too early to say exactly what kind of world the film is building. Reports have linked the project to a rural setting, while some speculation has suggested an action-oriented story, but the makers have not officially revealed the complete plot or genre.
For now, D56 is a project where the combination itself is doing the talking. With shooting now underway and a Summer 2027 release planned, the next updates could finally start giving audiences clues about what Tamizharasan Pachamuthu has created for Dhanush.
