Sree Vishnu’s latest entertainer Comrade Kalyan has opened its box-office account on a promising note. The makers announced that the film collected Rs. 4.15 crore worldwide gross on Day 1, celebrating the opening with a post describing the response as “Navvula Navarathnalu At The Box Office.”
Released in theatres on October 9, Comrade Kalyan brings Sree Vishnu back in a comedy entertainer, a genre in which his comic timing has earned him a following. The film stars Mahima Nambiar as the female lead and is directed by Janakiram Marella.
Set against the Andhra-Odisha border in 1992, the film combines comedy and drama in a distinctive setting. The supporting cast includes Radhika, Sudarshan, Shine Tom Chacko, Upendra Limaye and Sai Chand, who play important roles in the narrative.
The makers’ Day 1 announcement adds to the film’s early box-office buzz. The opening figure reflects the worldwide gross claimed by the production team, while the film’s performance over the weekend will offer a clearer picture of its theatrical momentum.
Presented by Kona Venkat, Comrade Kalyan is produced by Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner. Vijay Bulganin has composed the music.
With its comedy-driven premise and Sree Vishnu in the lead, the film is looking to attract audiences seeking a fun theatrical experience. The reported Rs. 4.15 crore worldwide opening gives the team an encouraging start as the film heads into its first weekend.
