Champion continues to be going strong at the box office. In five days, it grossed Rs 12.51 Cr at the worldwide box office. "The winning streak continues at the box office. CHAMPION collects 12.51 CRORE+ worldwide GROSS in 5 days and holds super strong on Monday (sic)," Swapna Cinema stated.
The film is fronted by Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan. Co-starring Prakash Raj, Kalyan Chakravarthy, Murali Sharma and several others, the film's music is composed by Mickey J Meyer.
Also brought out by Zee Studios, Anandi Art Creations, and Concept Films, Champion is directed by Pradeep Advaitham.
Here is what the film is about. After India’s independence, the princely state of Hyderabad remained under the autocratic rule of the Nizam. The brutal Razakars spread terror across Telangana, but villages like Bairanpally resisted, standing firm and inspiring the spirit of freedom. Meanwhile, Michael C. Williams (Roshan Meka), a football prodigy from Secunderabad, gains national fame and earns a chance to play for Manchester in England. However, his father’s background blocks all legal means of travel. Determined to reach England within 20 days, Michael chooses an illegal path. This mission takes an unexpected turn—Michael loses his way and ends up in Bairanpally. Despite hating war, he is drawn into the villagers’ struggle against the Razakars. Why does he choose to fight, and what fuels his conflict with Babu Deshmukh (Santosh Pratap), sent by Qasim Razvi to crush the rebellion and destroy Bairanpally?
