One year after the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule that left a young boy, Sritej, severely injured, producer and close associate of Allu Arjun, Bunny Vasu, said on Wednesday that the child’s ongoing care and financial support has been taken care. Elders like Dil Raju (the Chairman of TFDC) have been overseeing it.
Speaking at a media meet related to an upcoming film, Bunny Vasu reiterated the team's commitment to Sritej's well-being. A fund has been set-up and everything has been diligently adhered to as per set guidelines. The treatment and all other requirements of the victim have been taken care of in a systematic manner, he suggested.
The producer further clarified that the boy's medical expenses and monthly spend has been met through the fund. In case the boy's family comes up with any requests, discussions take place through proper channels.
According to media reports, Allu Arjun has personally spent Rs 3.20 crore so far on the child’s medical treatment and long-term security. This includes Rs 1.5 crore placed in a Fixed Deposit to secure Sritej’s future, from which the family has already received Rs 17 lakh as interest so far. Clearance of all pending hospital dues amounting to Rs 76 lakh has also been done. The support provided by Allu Arjun extends beyond immediate medical needs and is structured to provide sustained assistance to the family.
