Blockbuster comedy hit Hanuman Junction up for re-release

Hanuman Junction , one of the biggest action comedy hits of the early 2000s, is all set to be re-released in theatres. Directed by M Raja, the entertainer stars Arjun Sarja and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles. Venu Thottempudi is part of a super-comical track. Laya, Sneha, and Vijayalakshmi have different roles. The movie will hit the screens on June 28th . The cow scene involving LB Sriram and Venu was regarded as one of the major reasons why the film became a stupendous blockbuster. Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala play cameos as a married couple. The latter's 'Naa Boothe Naa Bavishyathu' was a runaway hit upon the movie's first release about 25 years ago. Ali, Jayaprakash Reddy, MS Narayana, Venu Madhav, Rallapalli and others feature in different roles. The film's debutant director, M Raja aka Mohan Raja, went on to helm Thani Oruvan, the Tamil-language blockbuster that was remade in Telugu as Dhruva (the Rama Charan-starrer). More recently, he also directed Chiranjeevi's Godfather, a remake of a Malayalam movie, much like Hanuman Junction was.
