Kalyan Padala has won the Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 title. A former CRPF jawan and commoner contestant (who entered the house after a pre-launch selection process called Agnipariksha), he emerged as the winner of the reality show's grand finale on December 21, 2025.
Hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni, he received the highest audience votes, beating strong competitors including runner-up Thanuja Puttaswamy. He took home a trophy, Rs 35 lakhs in cash prize money (reduced from an initial Rs 50 lakhs after another finalist opted for a cash briefcase exit), and in some reports, an additional brand-new SUV (Maruti Suzuki Victoris) plus sponsor bonuses bringing the total value higher.
He started as an underdog (criticized early on) but surged in popularity, becoming the first finalist, last captain, and ultimately creating history as a non-celebrity/commoner winner.
Kalyan's passion for cinema despite financial constraints leading him to a government job, his consistent gameplay, rejection of a Rs 20 lakh briefcase offer, and becoming the first non-celebrity/commoner to win the Telugu version of Bigg Boss.
