Just in time for the holidays, the legendary kingdom of Mahishmati is set to conquer our screens once again. Baahubali: The Epic, the definitive re-edited version of S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus, will debut on Netflix on December 25th.
Originally released in theaters on October 31st to celebrate the franchise’s tenth anniversary, The Epic seamlessly weaves The Beginning and The Conclusion into a singular, remastered 225-minute cinematic journey. This version features enhanced visual effects, a revitalized score by M.M. Keeravani, and even previously unreleased footage that provides a deeper look into the lore.
Reflecting on the return of his masterpiece, director Rajamouli shared at a recent screening, "I don't think I can express my love in words. You guys continuously kept asking, and we thought it was time to bring it back." Lead star Prabhas, who portrays the iconic dual roles, reminisced about the grueling production, noting, "Baahubali wouldn’t have happened the way it did if [Rajamouli] wasn’t so strict. It’s a project that defined my life."
