Arasan: STR's film with director Vetri Maaran gets a title

Silambarasan, known as STR in Telugu, is currently working with the acclaimed director Vetri Maaran. Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu today announced the title of the actor's 49th movie. He was last seen in a prominent role in Thug Life , starring Kamal Haasan and Trisha Krishnan. It was helmed by Mani Ratnam. He is also acting under the direction of Desingh Periyasamy. This is his 50th film and is also produced by him. After this, he will be teaming up with director Ashwath Marimuthu. Vetri Maaran continued his successful filmography with the critically and commercially praised gangster epic Vada Chennai (2018), which chronicles a life in North Chennai, followed by Asuran (2019), which directly addressed issues of caste oppression and social injustice, winning the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. His recent work, Viduthalai Part 1 (2023), delves into police operations and the oppression of tribal communities.
