Annapurna Studios to Re-release Cult Classic 'Shiva' with Dolby Atmos Sound

Annapurna Studios is celebrating its 50th anniversary by planning a grand re-release of its 1989 cult classic, Shiva , which was headlined by Akkineni Nagarjuna and marked the directorial debut of Ram Gopal Varma. In an effort to give the film a modern feel, the makers have decided to completely redo the sound, upgrading it from the original mono mix to Dolby Atmos using highly advanced AI engineering . The film stars Nagarjuna in the lead role as Shiva, a college student who challenges a corrupt student union and its criminal ties. Amala Akkineni plays the female lead, Asha, while J.D. Chakravarthy portrays the antagonist, J.D., the head of the student gang. Other notable cast members include Raghuvaran as the gangster Bhavani and Paresh Rawal as the politician Tilakdhari. The film was produced by Akkineni Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra under the banners of Annapurna Studios and S.S. Creations. The music for Shiva was composed by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja , with cinematography by S. Gopala Reddy. The film is praised for its realistic action sequences and groundbreaking background score.
