Akhanda 2 was released in 3D format as well last week. Director Boyapati Sreenu got the 3D version acquire layers of uniqueness and engineered depth.
In many ways, the epic sequel is not a regular 3D film, as a high level of conversion was deployed. "Every frame of Akhanda 3D has been re-engineered for depth, with objects, lighting, and spatial composition carefully realigned to create a natural and engaging sense of immersion," a source says. This vision necessitated the deep, multi-stage involvement of two sets of processes: Visual effects (VFX) and digital intermediate (DI).
Advanced QuantumDepth 2D-to-3D conversion process was developed. "It was executed entirely in India by RAYS3D, showcasing world-class indigenous capability," the source says.
A Hollywood cinematic marvel was the benchmark for the 3D version. “The creators of Akhanda 3D, utilizing entirely Indian technology, aimed not to rival Avatar's budget, but to achieve a depth experience that matches its cinematic impact and immersion," the source reveals.
Akhanda 2 was released in theatres on December 12th. Nandamuri Balakrishna plays two roles; the Aghora character has amazed the audience across age-groups and territories.
