Bollywood heavyweights Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani are reuniting once again after 3 Idiots and PK. A biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke is marking their big-ticket reunion. The film will delve into the remarkable life of Phalke and his pioneering efforts in establishing the Indian film industry. The narrative is set against the backdrop of India's independence struggle, the makers said. The script was developed over the past four years. Aamir is reportedly gearing up for the role and will commence preparations soon after the release of his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par . The cameras are expected to start rolling in October 2025 . Hirani's directorial debut was the acclaimed comedy-drama Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003), which was a critical and commercial success. This was followed by Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). Hirani then directed 3 Idiots (2009), a coming-of-age comedy-drama that became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of its time. PK, Sanju, and Dunki followed. Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is slated to hit the screens on June 20th. After Sanju, this is the second biopic in Hirani's filmography.
