
'8 Vasantalu': Ananthika Sanilkumar Steals the Spotlight

Ahead of the June 20th release of 8 Vasantalu, actress Ananthika Sanilkumar is grabbing eyeballs, especially after yesterday's pre-release event where she showcased her multiple talents. A trained classical dancer, she also knows how to pull off Wing Chun moves. The 19-year-old actress also knows Kalaripayattu and plays Chenda, a traditional cylindrical percussion instrument originating from Kerala. The makers of 8 Vasantalu looked for a young woman who knows both dancing and martial arts. The only one such actress we could find anywhere in the country is Ananthika, producer Y Ravi Shankar said. Known for the college campus comedy MAD, Ananthika also has a grounding in stage-acting, having played Parvathi, Sita, among others, at a young age. In 8 Vasantalu, Ananthika's character is named Shuddhi Ayodhya. Her multiple experiences from ages 17 to 25 is what the film is about. The film co-stars Ravi Theja Duggirala, Hanu Reddy, and Kanna Pasunoori. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers , the layered, conversational romantic drama film has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, production design by Aravind Mule, and editing by Shashank Mali. Vishwanath Reddy s cinematography is expected to be a major asset. Action choreography is by Wing Chun Anji.
