In a statement late Friday night, the production house released a statement expressing profound regret for the delay, citing "unexpected things" despite their "tireless efforts" to bring the movie to the big screen. The statement conveyed a sincere apology to the "fans and cinema lovers across the world" who have been eagerly awaiting the sequel to the blockbuster hit Akhanda.
The banner specifically thanked 'God of Masses' Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu for their unwavering support "during this challenging moment." While no new release date was specified, the statement concluded on a hopeful note: "AKHANDA-2 WILL HIT THE BULLSEYE WHENEVER IT ARRIVES…COMING VERY SOON WITH A NEW DATE."
The film was supposed to arrive at the cinemas on December 5th. The action drama, where Akhanda Aghora has supernatural powers, enjoys massive buzz. Aadhi Pinisetty plays an out-and-out negative role in Akhanda 2 alongside Kabir Duhan Singh. Samyuktha Menon and Harshaali Malhotra have prominent roles. Its full jukebox, composed by S Thaman, was unveiled recently.
