Tollywood actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya has taken the wheel of Hyderabad’s Blackbirds (HBB,) a motorsport racing team. As they gear up for the first ever Formula 4 Indian Championship season. Naga Chaitanya’s passion for motorsports has been revving up since his early years, making him a dedicated fan of Formula 1, supercars, and motorcycles. His profound love for the sport, combined with the chance to boost Indian motorsport, drove his decision to invest in the racing team.
The Formula 4 Championship will rev its engines alongside the Indian Racing League (IRL) in Hyderabad later this year. “Being a part of motorsport has always been a dream of mine. Joining the Hyderabad Blackbirds team brings me immense joy. Personally, I believe the Indian Racing League (IRL) is poised to become a household name in Indian motorsport, offering thrilling entertainment to enthusiasts and a platform for emerging talents. I can’t wait for the street races this season, which I’m sure will be a spectacular experience for viewers. Motorsport is gaining popularity across the age groups, it’s an exciting time to be part of it. I extend my gratitude to Akhil for making this dream come true,” Naga Chaitanya expressed.
Debuting last year, the IRL, with its street circuit designed races, captured the public’s attention. Blackbirds’ drivers Akhil Rabindra and Neel Jani clinched the first and second spots in the Drivers’ Championship, while the team secured second place in the overall Teams’ Championship.
