Among romantic horror comedies, The Raja Saab has the potential to become a trend-setter in Indian cinema. This is the first time that a pan-Indian movie of such variety has been made at such a monumental scale. The genre, in the previous decade, would have resulted in a one-language film. Thanks to Prabhas, The Raja Saab is a potential next big thing.
Admittedly, the film combines the thrills of horror with the heart of romance, all wrapped up in a package that is undeniably cool. Perhaps a fashion-forward horror story could be at its biggest merit after Prabhas‘ stardom. There could be a protagonist, a slayer of sorts, whose moves are unpredictable. A happy sense of humor and a haunted house could bring the roof down.
For years, we have been used to watching ghosts and vampires of the regular type in small-scale movies. Director Maruthi’s vision appears to be suffused with surprising plot developments and genre-bending moments. Witty dialogue, comedic timing, and a sense of fun, a stylish wardrobe and a superb soundtrack could make The Raja Saab a perfect feast.
In the film’s Motion Poster, we have seen both wilderness and a high-rise fortress. Elements like reincarnation and afterlife could be novel in the film.
The Raja Saab, produced by People Media Factory, will hit the screens on April 10, 2025.
