Legendary actor Kamal Haasan has revealed that his upcoming movie, Thug Life, was originally conceived by him as a Hindi film titled Amar Hai. After Mani Ratnam added embellishments to the idea, it took on a different form.
Speaking with Hollywood Reporter India, here is what the Indian 2 actor said: “I finished a script which was called Amar Hai. It is a pun; a man who is believed to be dead but not, his name is Amar. Mani Ratnam took it and made it embellished it. The punchlines were changed. It is the same thing, but he tweaked it.”
The film, whose music is by AR Rahman, will hit the screens on June 5th, 2025.
The trailer will drop at 5 pm, on May 17th. The audio will be out on May 24th.
The action drama also stars Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Tanikella Bharani, Abhirami Gopikumar, Ali Fazal, and others. Some of these actors are seen in the latest song. Cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran is also working on the movie. Production Design is by Sharmishta Roy, the dance choreography is by Kruti Mahesh Midya and costumes have been designed by Eka Lakhani.
