The Trailer of Thandel hits it out of the park. Romance, action, patriotism, the use of religious language, hints of longing, and much more. Director Chandoo Mondeti’s film ticks all the right boxes.
Raju (Naga Chaitanya appears raw and rustic) and Bujji (Sai Pallavi gets to play a full-fledged, author-backed role) share sweet-nothings as they talk about everyone in the village gossiping about their rumoured relationship. When they dare to go public with their relationship, fate has other plans. Raju, a boatman, gets trapped by Pakistani forces along with his fellow fishermen. As a leader (he is not an owner), he rises to the occasion to free himself and his compatriots.
Elements like love and patriotism have been seen in separate contexts. Thandel, for a change, brings them together to dish out a commercial action drama.
Shamdat is handling the cinematography. Naveen Nooli serves as the editor, while Srinagendra Tangala takes on the role of art director.
So far, three songs from the movie are out. Bujji Thalli, Namo Namah Shivaya, and Hilesso Hilessa are the titles of the songs, composed by Rock Star Devi Sri Prasad. The three songs, between them, have clocked 100 million views.
Thandel is up for theatrical release in theatres on February 7th.
