Telangana Gaddar Film Awards, announced recently, have feted visual spectacles that a large section of audience members loved to watch on the big screens. Some of them were pan-Indian hits.
Baahubali: The Conclusion was adjudged the First Best Feature Film for the year 2017. The SS Rajamouli directorial shook the box-office across languages. The commercial juggernaut totally deserves to be recognized for its writing, performances, and overall perfection. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishna featured in prominent roles.
RRR was adjudged the First Best Feature Film for the year 2021 (censored that year but released in 2022). Once again, it was a Rajamouli directorial. Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, the fictionalized story of two freedom fighters had music by MM Keeravani.
Kalki 2898 AD was the First Best Feature Film for the year 2024. After Baahubali 2, this is yet another Prabhas-starring event movie to be feted with a Gaddar Award. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the dystopian sci-fi epic actioner co-starred Deepika Padukone and others.
Rudhrama Devi, released in 2015, was a biographical action film based on historical events. Directed by Gunasekhar, it featured Anushka Shetty in the title role. Remembered for the performances by Allu Arjun and Rana Daggubati, the film was narrated by Chiranjeevi. It was adjudged the First Best Feature Film.
Akhanda, HanuMan and Karthikeya 2, which too can be counted among event movies, were also awarded.
