“Stand Up Rahul” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
Rahul (Raj Tarun), the son of Prakash (Murali Sharma) and Indumati (Indraja), loves to choose his career based on his interest in doing stand up comedy. But Indumati forces and urges him to join some job and get a perfect settlement. Rahul somehow joins a VR company handled by Kishore (Vennela Kishore). Shreya (Varsha Bollamma), a school friend of Rahul works in the same company. She falls in love with Rahul and proposes to him. Rahul, who feels that love and marriage are trash, due to his experience of seeing the failed relationship of his parents, rejects Shreya’s proposal but later agrees to be in a live-in relationship with her. How Rahul manages to maintain a balance in his love, career and life with all the confusions and conflicts around is the rest of the story.
On Screen Performances:
Raj Tarun chooses an urban and trendy script for Stand Up Rahul. He delivers a decent performance as a youngster who does stand up comedy. His timing in delivering the little jokes worked perfectly. Also, Raj Tarun perfectly balanced his performance both on the romantic side in the first half and emotional side in the second half. Raj Tarun has got a perfect scope in the character of Rahul to deliver the best as an actor.
Varsha Bollamma is very impressive as Shreya. She is so energetic on screen and looks so cute at the same time. She has a lot to do in the film as a lead actress where her role drives the protagonist mostly. She delivered her best as Shreya. Varsha even dominates Raj Tarun in a few scenes.
Murali Sharma and Indraja have got valuable roles as Raj Tarun’s parents and they did well.
Vennela Kishore, being the alternative rider of comedy to Raj Tarun in the first half, gave a decent performance in a limited role.
Off Screen Highlights:
Firstly, Stand Up Rahul has the advantage of a young team. The debutant director and producers, fresh and young music director and other technical team brings on the fresh ideas to the film. Santo, the writer and the director of Stand Up Rahul has packed the film with all the confusions and the difficulties youngsters face in making their career choice. He blended these conflicts with decent comedy by the character Rahul. Santo has a good clarity on his subject and he delivered the same. The presentation of the character and the conflicts is the major highlight of the film.
Dialogues are the added advantage for Stand Up Rahul. They are so trendy and provide the audience with good laughs.
The visuals and the music are so impressive and gives the film a freshness. They suit well with the rom-com genre of the film.

Stand Up Rahul is a decent watch for the youngsters. Being a contemporary flick with conflicts of love, career and life blended with the comedy timing of the lead character and genuine jokes from time to time, Stand Up Rahul sets up the stage for a perfect rom-com. The film is a go to watch for the family audience too.
