Retro, the action thriller starring Suriya, will hit the screens on May 1st. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj of Jigarthanda fame, the film has received a major release boost.
Sithara Entertainments’ Suryadevara Naga Vamsi will be releasing the movie in Telugu. The release rights are held by the top-tier banner in Andhra and Telangana. Retro is produced jointly by Stone Bench Films and 2D Entertainment. Jacki and Mayapandi are the art directors. Retro is one of the most-awaited films of the year.

Retro, whose Title Teaser was unveiled recently, is set in the 1980s. This being a romantic film with lots of action, rather than just a gangster action drama, the time period makes sense. Pooja Hegde plays Suriya’s girlfriend in the movie. Malayalam actor Joju George, Jayaram, Prakash Raj and Karunakaran are essaying pivotal roles. Retro boasts a stellar technical crew, including music director Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna, and editor Mohammed Shafique Ali. The film is produced by Jyotika – Suriya.
Sithara Entertainments has been upping its game lately. MAD Square, a buddy comedy, will be released on March 29th. Its Teaser is successful.
