‘Silk Smitha – Queen of the South’ is the title of Silk Smitha’s upcoming biopic. Actress Chandrika Ravi will be essaying the titular role in this biographical drama directed by Jayaram.
The project was announced on the birth anniversary of Silk Smitha today. “With the blessings of her family, it is with immense gratitude that we share a glimpse into her biopic, titled Silk Smitha – Queen Of The South,” Chandrika Ravi mentioned on social media, describing the late actress as a timeless beauty.

The announcement glimpse has Indira Gandhi herself wondering why every news outlet has reports about the meteoric rise of Smitha.
Silk Smitha had a shining career over a period of 17 years. She acted in as many as 400 movies.
Chandrika Ravi was seen in the special song ‘Maa Bava Manobhavalu’ in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ in 2023. She famously played a ghost in the Tamil movie ‘Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu’, which was remade in Telugu as ‘Chikati Gadilo Chithakotudu’.
