SJ Suryah’s CM character in Game Changer is a negative one. As the film’s chief antagonist, he is gung-ho about its impact. Ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on January 10, Suryah shares some interesting details of his role, the pan-Indian movie and his working experience with Ram Charan.
“It is every artist’s dream to work with director Shankar sir. One must earn the opportunity to do a film under his direction. My previous works did that for me,” Suryah, who was seen in a negative role in Shankar’s Bharateeyudu 2 last year, says.
So, what is the story of Game Changer like? “It is about a war-like clash between an honest, selfless District Collector and a greedy politician. When I listened to the story, the plotline seemed regular, but the scene design was excellent,” Suryah adds.
Suryah delivered a stunning performance in last year’s Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. Game Changer could take him to the next level. “Shankar sir developed my characterization, mannerisms, and dialogues imaginatively. I have donned four getups in the movie. You have seen two of them in the Trailer already,” Suryah says.
Suryah recently had the opportunity to share the dais with his Kushi and Komaram Puli actor, Pawan Kalyan. Talking about the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, the actor says, “Pawan Kalyan’s commitment remains intact. He always wanted to work for the betterment of the people. He used to read books by Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Che Guevara.”
Game Changer belongs to Ram Charan as much as Shankar. Suryah says that Charan is a sincere performer. Saying that his performance as an IAS officer is composed, Suryah adds, “His role as Appanna will be a major highlight. He has nailed it with his acting prowess.”
Suryah has dubbed his own voice for the film’s Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi versions. “Because I perform both on the set and in the dubbing studio,” he says.
The actor is wowed by producer Dil Raju’s commitment to unleash the best production quality. “His passion manifests in how the song ‘Jaragandi’ has been mounted. They created a world in the shape of a coffee cup. It takes enormous guts to do that. Dil Raju garu has command on storytelling, production, and distribution. He is an all-rounder,” Suryah says.
