It has been four days since Sankranthiki Vasthunam was released in theatres. In four days, the family entertainer has grossed Rs 131 Cr, becoming the biggest grosser in Venkatesh’s career thus far. F2, which was released in 2019, grossed about Rs 130 Cr (as per Dil Raju’s speech yesterday).

The makers are expecting the Anil Ravipudi-directed movie to gross more than Rs 200 Cr by the end of its theatrical run. If the humongous bookings on weekdays, even after the festival ended, are anything to go by, the film hitting the two billion mark is a done deal.
Speaking at the film’s success meet on Friday, director Anil Ravipudi asserted that he will continue with his style of writing and comedy, no matter what his critics might say. He suggested that he doesn’t keep in mind technical terms like “character arc” while writing a script. He goes with the flow and gives what the audience wants from him.
