HIT 3 Movie Review: Gritty, purposive violence

HIT 3, produced by Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions, was released in theatres today (Friday). TFN tells you what the action thriller film is like...Story:Arjun Sarkaar is a special officer working for the Homicide Intervention Team, based in Visakhapatnam. When a series of brutal, ISIS-type killings on a single day come to light, he is forced to be an India-trotting cop. What he stumbles upon is an extraordinary crime. How Sarkaar unleashes his fury on the desperadoes is what the second half is about.Analysis:Nani, as a killing machine, is gory and ferocious. This is his most masculine character ever in his career. When he had the whole system as his rival in Shyam Singha Roy, he could afford to be restrained. This time, as a cop who loves ripping out the body parts of beastly baddies, he is in his element. Srinidhi Shetty, as Mrudula, looks beautiful and confident.Surya Srinivas (as ASP Ravi IPS) is good. Rao Ramesh (as DGP Nageswara Rao) plays his part well. Samuthirakani, Ravindra Vijay, Komalee Prasad and others were cast in apt roles. The climax cameos are whistle-worthy.The music by Mickey J Meyer is an asset. The background score hits a crescendo during the CTK portions. The cinematography by Sanu John Varghese is impressive.The action blocks are fully integrated with the narrative. Lee Whittaker's stunt direction is adept. The production design (by Sri Nagendra) complements the mood-building intended by the screenplay.The portrayal of a sadistic, deviant cult comes in the right dosage. The dark and neo-noir elements add a new element of freshness to the HIT franchise.There are enough characters to keep the viewer engaged throughout. The introduction of the heroine early on is a clever choice. The romantic track doesn't overstay its welcome.The two cameos are written with care.
