Regina Cassandra is a new generation of actresses who is setting the silver screen on fire with her selection of scripts. A quick look at Regina’s recent movies will give an insight into the genre she fancies. It is clear that having acted in movies like Awe!, Evaru and 7, Regina prefers the genre of thrillers. Even her upcoming Tamil films Nene Naa or Nenjum Marappathillai are thrillers as well. Speaking to a popular news daily, Regina replied when she was asked about her fascination with thriller movies she said “Each film has a different plot line and narration; importantly, the way the focus point in the [thriller] film emerges makes for an edge-of-the-seat experience. I think that’s what draws my attention towards thrillers. Also, these films give me an opportunity to try something different. I believe in making the most of my opportunities (sic.)”

However, Regina has not always acted in thriller movies. Infact, Regina began her career as an actress famous for essaying roles that portray her as a girl next door. As an actress she likes to play the role of the girl next door however Regina was quick to clarify that she cannot typecast herself and instead she should be looking to portray a diverse variety of roles.
Regina concludes by saying “I want to be everybody and I love trying and testing methods to see what works for me. I know that people in the industry are watching me, but that doesn’t stop me from being myself (sic.)”
