Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the young director had set the trend with his debut film Arjun Reddy, a path breaking film in Tollywood. He repeated the same magic in Bollywood too with the remake of Arjun Reddy as Kabir Singh. Then he teamed up with his most favourite actor, Ranbir Kapoor for the film Animal. The title announcement teaser itself had set the expectations of the audience on fire with the director mentioning that he will show the true meaning of violence in the film. Parineeti Chopra was announced to be the lead actress in the film then. But now comes an interesting update from the film unit that the lead actress was replaced and Rashmika Mandanna is going to star alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
Rashmika Mandanna was in the headlines of every film industry in India over the past few months with her exceptional performance in the film Pushpa: The Rise. Also, she got a couple of opportunities from Bollywood. Recently, the legendary icon Amitabh Bachchan too loved the screen presence and the performance of the actress in his upcoming film Good Bye. With the actress Rashmika being in the super form and adding some extraordinary performances to her name, the national crush impressed the makers of Animal and they chose Rashmika Mandanna as the replacement of Parineeti Chopra to act as the lead actress alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The director of Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga posted the same on his Twitter handle on the occasion of Ugadi. “Happy Ugadi people. We welcome Rashmika Mandanna to the world of Animal to play Geetanjali,” wrote Sandeep Vanga.

Animal is being produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures and Cine1 Studios jointly. The film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the prominent roles. The makers earlier announced during the title release that the film would be released on 11st August 2023.
