The makers of RAPO22 have dropped an update. The film will feature Kannada superstar Upendra in a pivotal role. Taking to social media, Ram Pothineni wrote that he was honoured to “present our Superstar Upendra garu as SURYA KUMAR”. Upendra’s character is going to be a tribute to the “Spirit of every Superstar we admire and look up to”.
The title glimpse of RAPO22 will be out on May 15th. The glimpse video is expected to reveal interesting details of the movie’s genre and Ram’s character.

RAPO22 is directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla of Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty fame. Bhagyashri Borse of Mr. Bachchan fame is the heroine. Vivek Siva and Mervin Solomon, the Kollywood music directors, will be setting the songs to tune. Avinash Kolla is the production designer. The other day, Sreekar Prasad was roped in to helm the Editing department.
Last year, Upendra was seen in UI,a sci-fi dystopian action film which he himself directed. His next big release as a lead actor is 45, an action fantasy flick set to head to theatres on15 August 2025. Shiva Rajkumar is playing another lead role in it. Upendra is also essaying a major role in Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
