Jailer 2 will be made as a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster, Jailer. The project was made official by Sun Pictures on Sankrathi/Pongal.
Director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander have reunited with Superstar Rajinikanth for this mega sequel. “Immensely happy to announce my next film Jailer 2 with the one and only Superstar Thalaivar Rajinikanth sir and with my favourite Sun Pictures’ Kalanithi Maran sir and my dearest loving friend Anirudh,” the director wrote. A four-minute video was released by the makers to make the announcement. The video shows Nelson and Anirudh engaged in a playful conversation. After Rajini enters, there is a hint that Jailer 2 will be violent.

The first part of the film was a monster hit. Anirudh’s music played a stellar role in its success. Hukum, Jujubee, Muthuvel Pandian Theme, Jailer Theme, and Jailer Drill Theme were major hits.
Last year, Rajini was seen in Vettaiyan. Coolie is his next film. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie also features Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan and Aamir Khan in a cameo. Coolie, like Jailer 2, has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
