The highly awaited Tamil original film Raayan, which is multitalented actor Dhanush’s second directorial effort and also marks his 50th film as an actor, has been released in various Indian languages today, amidst huge expectations.
Raayan stars Dhanush, Sandeep Kishan, Kalidasu Jairam, Aparna Balamurali, SJ Surya, Saravanan, and other noted actors in lead roles, while it is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the prestigious banner Sun Pictures.
The cinematography for Raayan is handled by Om Prakash, while the editing was done by Prasanna GK. The music was composed by Oscar-winning musician A. R. Rahman.

Raayan Storyline:
Raayan, also known as Kaartavaraayan (Dhanush), lives a peaceful life in Anjanaouram with his siblings Durga (Dushara Vijayan), Muthuvelaraayan (Sundeep Kishan), and Maanikyaraayan (Kalidas Jayaram).
Unfortunately, Muthu (Sandeep Kishan) fights with the men of the local don Dorai (Saravanan), sparking a violent rivalry that destroys their peace of mind.
Another criminal enters the fight, Sethuram (SJ Suryah), and he has a lethal scheme to kill Raayan. Why does Sethuram want to murder Raayan and what happens next unveils in the rest of the story.
On-screen Performances:
Dhanush, whose extraordinary acting abilities don’t require an introduction, gave a fantastic performance. Dhanush gives his strongest performance, particularly in the action-packed scenes.
Sundeep Kishan assumes a major role and portrays a character with gray hues in a very remarkable way. His scenes with Aparna Balamurali and Dhanush are quite entertaining.
As always, SJ Suryah delivers a flawless performance. Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, and other actors give respectable performances in their parts.
The character played by Dushara Vijayan is fascinating and deserves to be appreciated.
Technical Aspects:
Apart from his exceptional acting skills, Dhanush displays his prowess in direction and the engaging storytelling needs much appreciation. T
Oscar-winning AR Rahman’s composition reinforces the movie’s narrative and adds much weight. The cinematography by Om Prakash is decent, while the editing by Prasanna GK is to be appreciated too. The production values are good.
End-note: The film’s greatest asset is the outstanding performances of Dhanush, SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, and Dushara Vijayan. Action movie fans will enjoy this movie the most.
