“My most favourite anna (elder brother) as one of the most powerful gods,” wrote producer S Naga Vamsi, almost officially announcing that Trivikram Srinivas’ dream project will be fronted by none other than Jr NTR. The producer is a fan of the RRR actor.
The film is based heavily on the legend of Lord Kartikeya, also known as Subrahmanya, Skanda, Shanmukha and Murugan. He is the Hindu god of war, as per scriptures. The producer also put out a sloka from the Subramanyam Bhujangam, a devotional hymn composed by Adi Shankaracharya. Earlier in the day, Jr NTR’s team teased the announcement by sharing an image of the holy spear associated with Lord Kartikeya.

The film’s scripting was finished last year. The scale and breadth of the project are unprecedented. Usually, if they are making a period or a costume drama, ‘Baahubali’ gets referenced. If they are making a high-octane action drama, ‘KGF’ is seen as the ideal. The Tarak-Trivikram film is so first-of-its-kind that even Rajamouli hasn’t dealt with such a genre/subject before, Naga Vamsi hinted in an interview last year.
Jr NTR is currently associated with two projects: War 2 and the NTR-Neel project.
