Prasanth Varma is a new generation director who shot to fame with the critically acclaimed Awe! The director is currently working on his next film titled Zombie Reddy, starring Teja Sajja in the lead role. The team of Zombie Reddy has wrapped up the shooting now.
Teja Sajja announced the same on social media with a poster that reads, “Shoot completed. Biting soon.” (sic) Director Prasanth Varma also shared a picture of him with Teja and the film’s crew, announcing that dubbing for the film has also been commenced. He wrote in the tweet, “#ZombieReddy started dubbing! @tejasajja123 @anandhiactress @DakshaOfficial #RajShekarVarma @AppleTreeOffl @UrsVamsiShekar #TeaserSoon (sic.)” The makers of the film are also planning to release the teaser of Zombie Reddy soon.

Speaking about the film’s story, Prasanth had said, “Zombie Reddy kick-off point will be the coronavirus pandemic but it delves into something much beyond that. I began researching for the film in January, way before the pandemic hit India. But we’ve made changes to the story since then. The film will follow none of the commercial film tropes. The film will be set in Kurnool (sic.)”

Zombie Reddy correlates with Coronavirus and showcases how the virus spreads at an alarming rate across the globe and offers a glimpse into the worst-case scenario. Movies about pandemics are not new with Hollywood already making Contagion, and the Malayalam movie Virus, which was based on the Nipah virus outbreak.
